Course Description
The main objective of this course is to familiarize the student with the basic issues related with bilingual education for which three main issues are addressed:
- What is bilingualism?
- Different models of bilingual education
- Bilingual Classroom Management in the Integrated Learning Model

- Background and development of bilingual models
- Political linguistics in Europe
- The bilingual school in the United States
Bilingual Classroom Management

- Students, professors, families
- Design bilingual learning units
- Evaluation in the bilingual classroom
Course Evaluation
The final mark will be based on the following:
- Mandatory attendance (according to the standard CLM)
- Participation in the class and homework assignments (20%)
- Mid-Term Exam (20%)
- Oral presentation about a model of bilingual school/design bilingual learning unit (20%)
- Final Exam (40%)
