Google Forms New Quiz Feature

Google has added an easy way to create a quiz using a Form.  You can add an answer key and it will automatically grade multiple choice quizzes.

Start by opening a new Google Form

Then click on the gear in the top right

Click on the Quizzes Tab

Turn on Make this a quiz, then select your Quiz options you can Release grade immediately (student will see grade when done) or you can choose to release grades later)

Then Save

Note: If you click on the Presentation tab you can shuffle the order of the questions.

Add the questions and fill in answer choices - you can use multiple choice, checkbox, and dropdown questions for the quiz.  Add images & videos too.

Question & Answer Choices

Choose the correct answer, assign points and provide feedback  by clicking Answer Key

You can provide feedback for incorrect and correct answers by choosing Add Answer Feedback

Click on the appropriate tab to add feedback - you can also add a link to a video, website or doc to provide additional information.

Once you’re done you can “Send” form and share the link with students.

When student “submits” the quiz he/she will see something the like image below:

The student can then view their score

And see feedback provided for each question

Choose responses in the form/quiz to see results by summary or individual response.

The summary provides you with:

• Frequently missed questions
• Charts showing correct answers
• Average, median, and range of scores
• These charts will be helpful in determining which questions and or students need additional review.

Some Google Forms Tips:

• Add questions to collect student name and email address or use the General Settings options to collect this info. (see below)
• Make each question Required
• Choose Duplicate to add new question & just change the question and responses. (You may have situations where the responses might be the same and this is a timesaver).
• If you have a list of responses in a document you can copy and paste them into the option 1 box and it will populate all the possible choices.
• To edit questions click on the pencil or just click somewhere in the questions box.
