Dear Godfrey-Lee Community,

After much prayer and discussion, our family has come to a point in which it’s very clear that

either myself or my wife need to take a step back from our career pathway. For more than 20

years, my wife has supported me in so many ways to chase down my dreams as an educator.

The time for me to do the same for her is long overdue and as such, I will be stepping down as

your superintendent so that I can be a more involved husband and parent.

Obviously, this decision comes much sooner than we had hoped and planned for and candidly, it

has been the single most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make. Serving our students alongside

the staff at Godfrey-Lee has been an absolute joy and the pinnacle of my career. As you know,

our students and staff are second to none. It’s because of this that the decision to step down is

heartbreaking.

We are fortunate to have a high functioning Board at Godfrey-Lee and I have the utmost

confidence in their transition plan moving forward. Board President Mockerman will be sharing

details of this transition in the very near future. In the meantime, I will do my absolute best to

support this plan however needed.

In closing, please know it’s been an absolute honor to work alongside the incredible team at

Godfrey-Lee. I love the GLPS team, our students and community and know your incredible

efforts will continue to impact generations of students.

Estimada comunidad de Godfrey-Lee,

Después de mucha oración y discusión, nuestra familia ha llegado a un punto en el que es muy claro que mi esposa o yo necesitamos dar un paso atrás en nuestro camino profesional. Por más de 20

años, mi esposa me ha apoyado de muchas maneras para perseguir mis sueños como educador. Ha llegado el momento de que yo haga lo mismo por ella y, como tal, renunciaré como su Superintendente  para que yo pueda ser un esposo y padre más involucrado.

Obviamente, esta decisión llega mucho antes de lo que esperábamos y planeamos y, sinceramente,

ha sido la decisión más difícil que he tenido que tomar. Servir a nuestros estudiantes junto con el personal de Godfrey-Lee ha sido una alegría absoluta y el pináculo de mi carrera. Como tú sabes, nuestros estudiantes y personal son insuperables. Es por esto que la decisión de renunciar es

angustioso.

Somos afortunados de tener una Junta de Educación de alto funcionamiento en Godfrey-Lee y tengo la máxima confianza en su plan de transición para seguir adelante. El presidente de la junta, Mockerman, compartirá detalles de esta transición en un futuro muy cercano. Mientras tanto, haré todo lo posible para apoyar este plan como sea necesario.

Para terminar, tenga en cuenta que ha sido un absoluto honor trabajar junto al increíble equipo de

Godfrey-Lee. Me encanta el equipo de GLPS, nuestros estudiantes y la comunidad y sepan que sus esfuerzos increíbles continuarán impactando generaciones de estudiantes.
