Resources and Information to Respond to Tornado in Middle Tennessee

The federal government is providing individual assistance for individuals in Davidson, Wilson, and Putnam county. If you were impacted by the tornados, you can apply for individual financial assistance through the federal government, FEMA: https://www.disasterassistance.gov/

  • Nashville VOAD Assistance Request Form- will take several business days to receive a response
  • Metro Social Services 615-862-6432- providing assistance to those impacted by the storm
  • Spanish Language Response form
  • U-Haul is offering 30 days of free self-storage to residents affected by the tornado and severe storms. U-Haul Company of Nashville has made three stores available to offer the disaster relief assistance program. The locations are: 3741 Annex Ave., 615-356-2550; 506 Fesslers Lane, 615-736-5231; and 14535 Lebanon Road, 615-754-6246.
  • Second Harvest Food Bank
  • If you have non-emergency clean-up requests, please call 3-1-1.
  • The Roof Store is offering free green tarps to anyone that needs to cover their roof after storm damage. 660 Coles Ferry Rd Gallatin, TN 37066
  • Evans Hill Missionary Baptist church is handing out food and supplies to anyone who needs it, 1341 Tulip Grove Road
  • Tarps and other resources are being distributed at Lee Chapel AME Church 1200 Dr. D.B. Todd Blvd, 37208 and New Covenant Christian Church 2201 Osage St, 37208
  • Look East, at 1011 Gallatin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206, is helping replace glasses and contact lost in the tornado for free. They are also seeing patients with eye injuries from the tornado free of charge.
  • Freeman Webb is offering easy short-term leases, waving up-front fees, premiums, application fees, administration fees or deposits on the company’s vacant units to create a more permanent housing solution for those affected while they rebuild. Freemanwebb.com

Putnam County

  • Blood Donations at CRMC at 155 W Broad St. Cookeville, TN 38501 and Portland High School on Monday (3/9) from 9:30am-1:30pm

Health and Counseling

  • Health/Counseling Services - Just found out Cigna has created a 24/7 Disaster Response help line for people in affected TN communities that do not have Health Benefits or access to an Employee Assistance Program. They have licensed professional clinicians available if you need someone to talk to. If you do have benefits, they can still try to help you figure out how to access the benefits you have.   • The Disaster Distress Helpline, 1-800-985-5990, is a 24/7, 365, national hotline dedicated to providing immediate crisis counseling for people who are experiencing emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster.
