Join the International Week of Action to Defund Coastal GasLink starting December 20
Banks and private equity companies are pouring billions on a massive fracked gas pipeline to cross Wet’suwet’en territory: Coastal GasLink.
Indigenous Hereditary chiefs and supporters have responsibilities to defend the sacred, pristine headwaters of the Wedzin Kwa, in Wet’suwet’en law. They hold uninterrupted title to the land, in colonial law. For peacefully acting in accordance with the law and defending our shared future, land defenders, allies and journalists were removed at gunpoint.
Banks and investors bankroll the violence it will take to complete and operate Coastal GasLink. It’s time to tell them that no investment is worth damaging the lands and waters of Wet’suwet’en Yintah and the climate all of us share.
Feel free to reach out to info@bankingonabetterfuture.org with questions about this event!

DECEMBER 20 Week of Action Alert: All out for Wet’suwet’en! Fill the streets to demand an end to funding for the Coastal GasLink pipeline
RBC, KKR, and Chase are all bankrolling and profiting off destroying Wet’suwet’en land. We urgently need you to take action in your own communities to stop the profiteering.

Dear friend,
Over the past year, major banks RBC and Chase and private equity giant KKR have ignored countless requests to meet with communities impacted by the fossil fuel projects that the company is funding. These companies are bankrolling Wet’suwet’en people being removed at gunpoint from their land.
We refuse to let these pipeline financiers get away with it. The week of December 20th Indigenous land defenders are calling for a week of action calling out the corporate giants behind Coastal GasLink.

We need to show these financiers that this is a risky project, and that they need to respect Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs. That’s why I’m inviting you to get out into the streets in solidarity with Indigenous organizers the week of December 20.
We’re coming together to demand that RBC, Chase and KKR respect Indigenous rights and stop funding Coastal Gaslink’s major fracked gas expansion. Join Indigenous and frontline leaders, grassroots activists to discuss RBC’s destructive climate and human rights record and how our campaign is ramping up the pressure on key executives.
Ready to start organizing a solidarity action for the week of the 20th? Use this toolkit to register your action and start planning.
In solidarity,
