Morning Leader, 2 May 1925
Noted Reginans Depicted in Oils
Two of the latest additions to Regina’s gallery of art are portraits of Lieutenant Governor Newlands [6440] and Mr. Justice Martin [6274]. Both portraits were painted by the famous British artist, Philip de Lazlo [sic], London, England, to whom Lieutenant Governor Newlands and Judge Martin gave several sittings when they were in the empire’s capital last summer as delegates at the Canadian Bar Association.
Lieutenant Governor Newlands’ portrait is hanging in one of the reception rooms at government house, while Judge Martin’s picture [is] hanging on the walls outside the Saskatchewan Legislative chamber at the Parliament buildings.
