- Pair Share: Use bags with four objects for each pair of children.  Have children sort the objects in their bag that are alike such has different size pencils and an eraser.

- Pair Share: Repeat the activity with objects that are identically the same and one different, such as 3 red connecting cubes and 1 yellow cube.

- Independent Practice: Complete activity sheet “Alike/Same.”

- Which shapes have different colors but are the same shape?

- Do any of these shapes belong with the group in the circle? Why?

- Look around to find objects in the classroom that are the same shape as the objects in your sheet.
