Instruction 104.2 STUDENT ASSESSMENT

 

 

Working within professional learning teams, teachers will create common formative assessments to inform instruction. Formative assessment data will be used at regular intervals of a student's progress in order to help improve the student's performance and to inform the teacher's practice. Formative assessments are not graded activities.

Analysis of summative assessment data will be used to inform both instructional practice and curriculum focus. District staff will provide support for and monitor the taught curriculum to ensure alignment with the written and tested curriculum, and summative assessment data will inform district staff of this deep alignment. Summative assessments carry weight in determining a student’s achievement levels and are graded activities.
