Crazy New World
Changes can sometimes happen when you least expect them.
This is a story about how a puppy changed me and my family.
The one thing I always wanted was a puppy. I wanted one so badly I begged, pleaded, and I hounded my mum.
Mum asked, “Who will feed the puppy?”
I will. I will. I swear I will feed her.
“Who will clean her poop?”
I will. I will. I swear I will clean her poop.
“Who will walk her?”
I will. I will. I swear I will walk her.
And then one day it happened. Mum said ok fine. We got a puppy. It was the best day ever!
Oh my gosh! Those eyes were so beautiful I fell in love instantly.
She’s golden and brown with adorable greenish blue coloured eyes. I love my Nala. She is my first puppy and probably going to be the best one.
From the moment we picked her up the changes began. It was long ride home. Six hours. Little did we know our beautiful little puppy would be car sick. She vomited in the car and it was so gross it got in my books and everything. It smelled terrible.
Other things changed as well. Our dinner times used to be nice and peaceful. Now, not so much. I can remember this one time she jumped up on the chairs to get to the table and licked everything on the table. She not only licked stuff but she stole some of the food off the table that we had just put down for dinner. We couldn’t even turn our backs to get a knife and fork and everything was gone. Well not everything, but little things were gone.
She is also the biggest beggar. Every night she begged and begged for food. I mean that's what puppies do, but oh my gosh it is so annoying. She always comes to me because she knows I'm too nice and I can't say no.
Don't get me wrong. I love Nala to bits, but there are days when I really don't feel like going for a walk, cleaning up after her, or being nibbled on. When you get a puppy your whole world changes. I’m glad mine has changed.
