StoryCards for SeedComp
This is a proposal for a card swiping game with the mechanics of Reigns and Lapse. A first version of the idea was created for the 2021 Cultural Heritage Game Jam. However, that game only implemented a very simple subset of the desired functionality and features a branching story authoring technique that is very difficult to work with.
The objective within this SeedComp is to develop further/better, using the main idea of the card swiping mechanics, but implement any of the following:
- Authoring tool that allows easy review of authored flows, see sample wireframe below
- Support for states/cards that are not strictly positioned in the branching narrative, but rather act as optional/random story bits. Consider the kernel vs satellite events dichotomy with kernel elements already implemented and satellite ones to be added.
- Game menu that allows navigating between the different stories. This could also be card-based, e.g. left for actions like next story and back, right for pick/choose story and confirm

Possible stories
The first version was about Trusty John, but we want to add support for other stories, e.g.:
- Fitcher's Bird: Steps in the story are the steps that the sisters took
- Little Red Riding Hood
