  1. Overview

To provide students with the conceptual tools, analytical, theoretical and practical approach to enable them critically, from the perspective of the social sciences, the different approaches and explanatory frameworks studies conflict, violence, peace processes and peacebuilding. In order to offer the student a wide range of possibilities, cases from different continents are analyzed.

After completing the course the student is expected to generate questions and reflections on issues related to peacebuilding issues and alternatives to violence

  1. General characteristics of learners in your course

This is a course for graduate students interested in understand the conflict, the transformation and peacebuilding, to work with themselves, their family, or social groups through artistic intervention processes

  1. Type of technology you're using

Learners in this course need:

  1. Access to a computer with speakers and microphone. A webcam is optional by discretional relationship.
  2. Internet access
  3. Ability to browse and search the Internet and use email.
  4. Ability to access and use document and presentation creation software: Office, Google Docs, Open Office.
  5. Ability to access and use Lync
  6. Ability to maintain basic computer security including keeping computer updated for multimedia use, i.e. Quicktime, RealPlayer, Flash, Java.

• The notion of conflict is adequately referenced information.
• There are hyperlinks that allow you to analyze the conflict from different dimensions: economic, artistic, political, gender, etc.

Oral presentation and final paper 20%

• Demonstrate clarity, ownership and proficiency in the subject.
• The proposal must be developed from the concept of peacebuilding
• The element of social transformation must be supported from the artistic proposal.
