Introduction
Did you know that a butterfly goes through a metamorphosis and it goes through different stages? The butterfly is created by hatching into a caterpillar but how does the butterfly go through a life cycle as the start of a small tiny caterpillar?
Egg stage
Firstly the butterfly lays the egg and then it flies away and in two to four days the caterpillar breaks out of the egg and comes out and eats its shell and begins its journey through the life cycle.
Larva stage
Soon the caterpillar grows older and then it feels uncomfortable in its skin so it shreds off the skin and into a new skin that is under the skin and then it continues eating more leaves.
Chrysalis stage
Soon the caterpillar feels like they are going to turn into a butterfly soon so they lie on the leaves upside down and start creating a chrysalis also called a cocoon and it starts as covering the cocoon up so they are inside it.
Soon the caterpillar is settled in its cocoon and then it stays still so any other predators won’t spot it and eat it.
Butterfly stage
After two weeks the butterfly bursts out of the cocoon and then it spreads its wings and goes to eat some flowers by sucking inside the flower and then it goes on another leaf and lays the egg so now the life cycle of the butterfly goes again and again.
Conclusion
Now that you know the life cycle of the butterfly and how it works and the caterpillar turns into a butterfly you can see that some other animals has some different things but they also go through a life cycle too.
