Parking reminder:  To all of our Seniors, please remember to only park in the white lined parking spots, the yellow spots are for our faculty/staff.  Thank you !

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: If you stay after school for an activity, club or sport, you must have a bus pass from your advisor, teacher or coach to ride the late bus. You will not be allowed on the late bus without a pass.   The only reason any student should be on campus after 2:25 is if they are at a club meeting, activity or sport.

CLASS of 2027: Phantom Fest Tickets are on SALE for $75.00!! Let's start the school year off with a frightful evening at Lake Compounce together!!   Complete the Google form and bring your payment to Mrs. Walsh to reserve your spot!! PHANTOM FEST CLASS of 2027

The PSAT will be administered at John Jay High School on Saturday, October 26th.

We recommend that all college bound juniors take this exam.

Students can register Monday, September 23rd - Monday, October 7th at 2pm on Family ID. https://account.familyid.com

The cost is $18.00 per student.

Students taking this test should arrive at school at 7:30am on test day.  

ID is required to enter testing rooms.  

Students must bring a fully charged WCSD issued Chromebook.

Students are required to bring their own College Board approved calculator.

The John Jay Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, September 28th from 7pm-11pm here at John Jay. John Jay students only can pay $18 exact cash at the door. Guest tickets can NOT be purchased at the door. Follow the Class of 2025 Instagram page and Google Classroom for assistance and information.

**Be sure to bring a form of identification (License, School ID, printed copy of parent portal with picture) with you and your guest (if applicable) to ensure a smooth check-in process.** No backpacks or large bags will be allowed. All bags and belongings are subject to search. All attendees are subject to screening for drugs and alcohol.

There are no refunds as payments are going through a third-party vendor.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the dance. No outside food or beverages of any kind will be allowed in.

All attendees and guests are subject to following the WCSD Code of Conduct at all times.

Homecoming T-Shirt Sales:

2024 Homecoming t-shirts will be on sale for $10 exact cash only in the gym/cafeteria lobby during all lunch periods STARTING TODAY 9/23- Friday 9/27 while supplies last!

Attention: Seniors! Are you having trouble answering questions on the Common Application? Are you stuck with your college essay topic? Or do you just need to bounce an idea off of a counselor regarding your supplemental questions? You’re in luck! Mrs. Keating will be set up in the LGI on Monday, September 30th during 5th period to answer any college related questions you may have. Ask a question, leave with candy!

ATTENTION CLASS OF 2025 - SENIOR PORTRAITS ARE HAPPENING:    Seniors, make sure you schedule your senior portrait. The dates that are left are: September 9-13, October 9-11, October 28 - November 1, and November 12-19. You will only be able to schedule for the dates of September 9 - 13. Do not miss out AND do not wait until the last minute to take your Senior Portrait, you may not get an appointment. If you don't take a senior portrait, you will not be in the Yearbook and you will not be able to submit a quote.  ALL DATES ARE FINAL. CLUBS & ACTIVITIES:

Stock Club will be having a meeting this Tuesday October 1st 2024. If you're interested in investing, stocks, and cash prizes please come join us. Stock club will be meeting the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month.

Girl Up Club: Are you interested in advocating for gender equity in your school and community or supporting underprivileged women here and abroad? Come to the first Girl Up meeting Thursday (9/26) at 2:30 in room 220 to learn more. All are welcome!

 FFA meets in Room 197 every Monday from 2:30-3:30pm. The join code is: jjnvx6m

The Model UN club will be meeting Tuesday, October 1st in Room 203 at 2:30 PM. All are welcome to attend."

Unified Buddies: Unified Buddies will meet on Monday, September 30th in RM 112 from  2:25- 3:30! Come hang out and see what out club is about, all are welcome!!

Science Research Club: The Science Research Club will have its first meeting Friday, October 4th. Join us if you're interested in conducting real scientific research alongside experienced mentors! We’ll help you prepare projects for science fairs, including ISEF, and teach you how to write and submit research papers for publication into top journals. This is a great opportunity to connect with others who share your passion for science and dive into authentic research experiences.

JJ WRESTLING:

Attention anyone interested in JV or Varsity Wrestling this season.  We are having a mandatory team meeting on WEDNESDAY, October 2nd at 2:30 in the wrestling room.  Be prepared with shorts and a t-shirt to do a preseason weigh-in. You will be able to take the late bus home.

Congratulations to the John Jay Girls Tennis Team for their 7-0 win over Our Lady of Lourdes on Friday. The team is off to a 5-0 start this season!

Any girls interested in playing lacrosse this spring, please email coach Rowan (sean.rowan@wcsdny.org) to be added to the google classroom. All information regarding off-season workouts will be posted there."

🥍The Boys Lacrosse Team📣🥍

Is looking to fill a few positions on our team, in a non-playing capacity. We are interested in having 2 students learn and help us keep track of our sports book (statistics) on the sideline, as well as 2 students to help us take photo and video for the games. This position needs to be filled for both JV and Varsity. This would be for our upcoming 2025 Spring season. You would be a part of our team, travel with the team on the bus, and get a team shirt. Athletes of the Week 9/16/24 - 9/22/24

Ava Dvorak and Grace Etkin, DoublesTennis - They were the deciding match of JJ’s victory over Arlington, winning in a thrilling super tiebreak of 12-10.

Eamon Curley (9th) XC - First Saturday Meet run on JJ Varsity, time of 18:48. 3rd on JJ, 7th place for freshman, 197 of 901 runners

Carson Durkin, Soccer - The senior goalkeeper had a shutout at Mamaroneck to help the boys soccer team win 3 - 0 on the road.

Kailey Fitzgerald (12th) XC - Great team leadership and motivator. 24:43 run.  Ran with one of our other runners who had been sick most of the week, and encouraged her to finish.

Ava Jordan, Soccer - (12 grade) forward. Ava scored 3 goals against New Rochelle in a 5-0 win. The Girls varsity soccer team is now 3-2-1 on the season.

Lindsay McDonough, Volleyball (12th grade) with 9 digs, 5 assists, 4 aces and 100% serve average for our two matches against Clarkstown South and Millbrook
