Dr. Liz Balgord to Present at UGA Luncheon: Dr. Balgord will be presenting, "Revised exhumation history of the Wind River Range, WY; implications for Laramide tectonics and other Laramide-style orogenic systems," at the September luncheon meeting of the Utah Geological Association, which will take place at 12:00 noon, on Monday, September 12th at the Utah Department of Natural Resources. Reservations are requested. Please see the attached flyer for full information.
SGE Recruiting New Members: Our student chapter of Sigma Gamma Epsilon, the national academic and pre-professional society for geoscience students, is now recruiting new members. Requirements are a 3.0 GPA in your geoscience courses (minimum 10 credit hours) and a minimum 2.67 overall GPA. Please see Dr. Ford to confirm your academic qualifications and arrange for paying the $25 national membership fee. Contact Daksha Patel (Chapter President) or Kelsey Minnoch (V.P.) to learn more about this semester's SGE activities.

Updated 3-Year Provisional Schedule: To aid you with your academic planning, the department maintains a running, 3-year provisional schedule of classes. Please note that this is our best estimation and is subject to change. Regular meetings (once each semester) with your faculty advisor will ensure that you have the most up-to-date information.
