Application for Foster Youth

Cultural Exchange Peru 2017

In order to travel with the Foster Youth Cultural Exchange, organizers and youth must each fill out an application and go through a selection process. Each youth traveler will need to make an investment of $750 each and make a commitment to helping to raise funds for the “greater good” (other youth travelers) as well.

A copy of your current passport must be included with your application (if you don’t have a passport now, please communicate your plan to immediately obtain one).

All “organizers” whether former foster youth or not, are required to pay all travel costs and also raise funds (minimum of $1,000) for the youth travelers.

Please complete this application by July 25, 2017 to be considered for the 2017 Trip. FYCE 2017 is traveling to Peru (South America). Our travel dates are approximately: November 22 - December 3, 2017. Dates may shift slightly due to flight costs and availability.

Share a little about how you plan to use your learning from this trip when you return to the United States (or other country) in your community organizing around foster care reform and other issues.

Do you have any issues that have happened in the past that might make you seem unfit for international travel (for example, a negative experience in your work at CYC, missing flights, being unreliable, inappropriate behavior, drug use experience, etc)? If so, please share how you have overcome past issues and are prepared for the major responsibility of international travel.

All travelers will be expected to co-plan and organize this trip (with support and training provided by FYCE). What committees might you be interested in participating?
