Google Drive seems fairly simple so far. It’s overwhelming how much google offers, and this is one more thing that I can add to the on-going list. I just created a drawing… It’s not very creative, but it gives me options for different things I can use in my future classroom! There are all kinds of need tools, just like in a regular microsoft word document, only now I’ll be able to share it on the internet with my students or their parents. If these documents, spreadsheets, powerpoints, and drawings can be shared, there are probably many opportunities for students to use them.
For example, if students were to collaborate on group projects, but could not necessarily find time to meet together outside the classroom, they could share group information via Google Drive. If they were to give a presentation to the class, maybe one student could design the first three slides of a powerpoint, while another student can design the next three slides, and so on and so forth. With Google Drive, they would be able to make progress on their powerpoint presentation without necessarily ever having to get together.
My favorite thing about Google Drive is the option to use the powerpoint presentation. I did not know this existed!! Now, I probably won’t have to buy an application in order to prepare a powerpoint slide… This is amazing, and I’m so happy to have discovered this!
If I had to choose between Zoho and Google Drive, I would probably choose Google Drive because I am more familiar with Google in general.
