It was alleged that she was on set of the film (particularly Wheels On The Bus), but it’s a rumour so it’s not substantiated, but if she was, that’s problematic for many reasons:
- First, a minor shouldn’t be on set for a sexually charged film. Even if legal (no case has been filed) it still is not right, because exposing a minor to sexual things is bad, anybody under 18.
- It goes against general guidelines, it’s true they are different from the ones Melanie Martinez used. But it still would be a red flag.
However, keep in mind it’s alleged. Doesn’t mean it’s true. But what is true is Melanie personally taking her out to see the sexually charged film when she was 17 years old.
Lucy Loone was there at the K-12 premiere event that took place in September 2019, since her birthday was in October 2019, that would mean she’d be 17 at the time.

A child is posting to her Instagram story multiple times about how much she misses a random grown woman (Melanie). Melanie built close parasocial relationships with children who enjoyed her and her music and let her into her home. Despite claiming 21 year old Melanie would be Noah’s forever favorite, the two no longer follow each other, which is key to note as we move forward.
Keep in mind this doesn’t mean anything predatory actually happened, that isn’t confirmed. But it helps paint a pattern of power imbalanced dynamics, which is exactly how it played out when she raped Timothy Heller and Madeleine Carina.

Maddie claims that Melanie has pressured additional women to sleep with her, later saying she had one specific girl in mind—alluding to current friend Elita Harkov (she’s from Canada, and leaked messages show her and Melanie flirting with each other via Snapchat).
As for Timothy, fans like to say “The full line is she never said no to what we chose to do together!!”
They claim Timothy’s story was debunked, but there is no evidence. People will say she forgot dates, but she stated in the past she has memory issues surrounding it due to trauma and her mental health. A user also pointed out that she frequently lied (not with intent) multiple times—such as the age she wrote “Sticks & Stones” (she said multiple times it was 16 for her band Espioes, but the band formed when she was 17 making this impossible), when she dated Jared Ryan Maldonado (she said she dated him from 17 - 18, when she was actually 19 - ~21), and a photo of Melanie and her at a dinner she claimed was taken during the Dollhouse Tour in 2014 (it was actually in 2015, but there is no reason for her to lie about this since the picture does nothing for her case as it was months before the incident—it was just a mistake). Melanie fans will also bring up her problematic past (such as racism); however, these details are completely irrelevant to the case at hand—and who said you had to personally support her? You can believe she was raped without endorsing her behaviour. There’s no need for a perfect victim agenda and spreading such a narrative is harmful. Timothy was with Melanie on both the timeframes provided in May and June and Melanie confirmed the events when she stated “she never said no [to what we chose to do together]” (It’s more likely that the incident actually happened in May since that’s when they played the game which was a key factor in the story, as per Timothy’s iCloud). Timothy’s iCloud was also messed up (it showcased 2017 photos under 2011), which could’ve contributed to the confusion surrounding the date.
It’s also important to note Melanie was dating her boyfriend Miles at the time, who said he “wouldn't care” if she and Timothy hooked up. Timothy also had a relationship (either with Dannel Escallón or another man whose name is unknown) which Melanie would’ve known about—meaning she wanted Timothy to cheat on her then-current boyfriend with her.

Here are two additional statements from Maddie Carina on the situation from March 21, 2019 (around the time she shared her story with Edwin) and July 24, 2020. “I saw the texts” are referring to Heller’s claims Melanie tried to contact her and Mikey (Heller’s boyfriend).
Keep in mind, some people try to claim Timothy faked or lied these messages, however, Abigail Breslin (who saw the messages) is still actively getting roles. If Timothy did obscure evidence, then she would be convicted, Abigail would be exposed: however, that’s not the case. No criminal case exists proving she lied about these text messages.

- In mid 2026, Spin Magazine asked Melanie for comment on her sexual assault allegations for an interview. Her team then sent an email to the publication accusing them of “white male bullying” and used “POC” and “LGBTQ+” as a shield from commenting on the matter.
This is problematic because she is a white Latina, she is not a person of color. This takes away from real POC struggles by letting white people (the oppressors) into the label.

While it obviously being inappropriate, there are images showing her styling the see-through baby apron with a regular long sleeved shirt and a picture from the same photoshoot wearing a tank top.
It’s clear she could have worn a tank top and or a long sleeved shirt with the see through apron , why did it have to be a bra? It was a conscious decision.
- In her song ‘Teddy Bear’ it is a metaphor for domestic violence and tying the abuse to a child character.
- Drew a very revealing image of her child character on tumblr with her breasts out
Melanie wasn’t drawing herself, as shown by the word ‘CRY BABY’ in the background. Fans also claim that “Cry Baby is only depicted with brown hair!” which is true for the storybook, but in the film, on tour, etc, Cry Baby is shown with split dye hair. Even if she was drawing herself she’s stated she IS Cry Baby meaning any depiction of herself in the imagery is of the character.

- On Tumblr, Melanie posted an edited gif of an underage Jennette McCurdy topless.
Melanie was 20, Jennette would be 17 in the episode.
Melanie fans usually respond to this by showing the original version of the video where Jennette was fully clothed. However, Melanie did not post that version. User “fothermuckingduntcestroyer” altered it to make her look topless and publicly uploaded it as a Gif. Melanie posted that version, hence why Tumblr took it down for violating the guidelines.
There are multiple archives of this gif but we won’t be sharing them since it’s CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material). It’s important to note the drawing does not HAVE to look like this. It is intentionally designed to tease body parts and have the child look uncomfortable while choking and crying. Not to mention it is physically impossible to create this position with both her knees and feet. It’s forced.
- In her Cry Baby coloring book, for her song ‘Tag You’re It” she has an image of the Big Bad Wolf kidnapping her child character with the ice cream cone in an interesting position.
- She promoted the music video for “Soap/Training Wheels Double Feature” with a drawing of Cry Baby in the bathtub with Johnny (two child characters who are love interests). - In an interview with Untitled Magazine Melanie explains more about what made her choose the children concept, once again reiterating Cry Baby is a child, that she doesn’t experience what some of her audience is using to find comfort with and that she simply enjoys “playing around” with distorting the innocent nature of a child. I understand that the fan stole a robe from her and she wanted it back, but there were much better and more professional ways to deal with it without bullying this kid with her fans and calling him all kinds of names and insults. This was a 14 year old kid. She could have dealt with this privately without taking it to the internet for the whole world to see and help her out by harassing him.
It’s worth noting that Melanie just left her robe on stage (according to Joseph). It’s her responsibility to take care of her possessions. It’s her fault she was careless and wasn’t paying enough attention.
This appears to be a pattern with her. She allows her fans to harass Timothy, Madeleine, all of her ex partners and friends who shared their uncomfortable experiences with Melanie, Jazmin Bean and the list goes on..
She publicly defended Oliver Tree and a few of her exes so she clearly knows what’s going on in her own fandom. Melanie knows how parasocial her fans are and she benefits from that by letting them harass and bully people who dare raise their tongues against her, while she sits back, stays silent and watches.
54. Racism and Orientalism against East Asians
Melanie Martinez did a joke with her friend, Liz Davis Slezinger, about a “China Doll”:

A “China Doll” is meant to mock porcelain figures made in China and their distinctive features (as they are East Asian), Melanie Martinez, a white woman, decides to intentionally overdramatise her face to look like the “China Doll”. This is racist because it mocks East Asian people’s features.
It is also orientalist, as the term itself, “China Doll” is a misogynistic, racially charged one designated specifically at East Asian women. Orientalist ideology is tied to misogyny, as misogyny usually prioritises a male, (masculine). Is superior, that would be coded as the west. While a female, (feminine), would be different cultures outside of the west. It exoticises the cultures and makes them seek weak colonial techniques. When you call someone a doll, it means they have no voice, so they cannot object, this would mean they could not object to violence, or anything happening to them, this reflects the West colonising Non-Western societies, particularly East Asian ones.
China Doll hypersexualises East Asian women, which can lead to extreme outcomes like sexual violence, rape and murder.
