ABOUT US

SPRINT is an annual outreach and access program for Indigenous, Black, and racialized high school students to learn about psychology, gain research experience, and build lasting academic relationships. Supported by the Department of Psychology, SPRINT is led by undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral trainees, who seek to foster an inclusive and anti-racist environment in psychology, research, and higher education. YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As a leading member of the executive team, the Events & Program Coordinator organizes special events and acts as a first point of contact for all stakeholders during the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute special events for the program, including but not limited to an opening ceremony, a campus tour, an alumni engagement event, a laboratory tour, and a closing research symposium
  • Coordinate daily program operations, including tracking attendance, resolving on-site or technical issues, and redirecting inquiries to appropriate members
  • Serve as the first point of contact for participants, team members, and other stakeholders
  • Liaise with internal and external partners to book spaces, arrange catering, and secure necessary supplies
  • Collaborate with other committees to ensure cohesive program delivery, supporting cross-functional initiatives and aligning efforts with program objectives
  • Complete responsibilities in person on the St. George Campus during the last two weeks of July 2026, from Mondays to Fridays, 8:45 AM to 4:45 PM.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student, or alum of any postsecondary institution*, preferably in psychology, education, social sciences, community development, or a related field
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Indigenous, Black, and racialized communities.
  • Experience with event planning, program coordination, or community outreach, particularly in educational or non-profit settings.
  • Experience in SPRINT and/or working with high school students or youth is an asset.

*Note: All work, including remote responsibilities, must be completed within Ontario in compliance with University of Toronto policies. Candidates who are working out-of-province or out-of-country are ineligible to apply.
