Course Description:  STEM Explorers curriculum delves into concepts regarding Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math. Due to the low interest in Earth & Space, we are unavailable to provide it this semester. We will follow the AP Curriculum for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. As for Math, Math is split into two groups; Algebra 1 Group and Algebra 2 Group. The groups will be split accordingly.

Instructional Philosophy:  In order to be successful in this course, students are expected to be active participants.  It is our goal to provide a positive and engaging classroom where all students have the opportunity to learn, succeed, and share their thoughts and opinions verbally.

Classroom Expectations:

Please refrain from using cellphones during the lesson as to show respect to our instructors. If you need to use your phone, please ask the instructor for permission. If you are caught using your phone without permission, three strikes and you will be removed from this program.

When using personal chromebooks, please refrain from going off track on different websites. If you are caught you will be given a verbal warning. The third time this occurs, you will be removed from this program accordingly

Attendance Policy:  Attendance is key to this program. If you are going to miss a session please feel free to contact your instructor or the CAPA President Mr. Daniel. If you have more than 2 unexcused absences, you will be removed from this program as this shows that you are not really passionate about this program.

Tests, Quizzes:  Tests and Quizzes will be given by your instructors at their own discretion. Like in school, cheating is prohibited. Any counts of cheating will result in instant removal from this program.

Homework:

All assignments must be completed before entering the classroom. Instructors will give out homework at their own discretion and you are expected to complete it before the following session. Lack of effort will not be tolerated here, so please try your best at completing the given work.

Resources:

Khan Academy is a good universal website for all listed subjects. If you want textbooks, please let your instructor know and they will provide you with one.

Assessment methods will encompass a variety of formats, including exams, providing a comprehensive evaluation of your understanding. It is vital to understand that asking questions is the best way to learn and improve.
