Lesson Plan: Class 3

What will students be able to do by the end of Lesson 3?

Students will be introduced to the Principles of Design and Elements of Design. Then, students will critique their work collectively keeping these Principles and Elements in mind.

Learning Plan: Facilitating the Activity

Students will critique their work and the work of their peers, and will incorporate any changes to their business cards. They will complete their business card designs. A new project will be introduced: design a birthday party invitation for the party of their dreams.

D: Main Activity: List Steps

The main activity is to finalize their business card designs. The business card will be sized 3.5” wide x 2” tall, and will include student’s name, address, and email address (if they have one).

1.The class will finalize their business cards, and have a group critique of their work.

2. The class will be introduced to a new project: design a birthday party invitation.

2. Students will sketch and do image research online.
