God of all creation, you anointed your Son to bring Good News. We, your baptized, have also been anointed to witness to your love. Help us live out the gospel more fully in our relationships and in the world. We offer these prayers today. Amen
EAP Raffle Basket Draw
Our Gr 4 and 5 Students are participating in the Entrepreneurial Adventure Program. Their first business venture, a Raffle Basket Draw, was a great success. More than $1000 was raised. All proceeds will support the OK Clean Water Project. Congratulations to Owen in Grade 2 for winning the Senators raffle basket! We are sure he enjoyed the Senators game, even if they didn’t win. Also, congratulations to Niko in Grade 2, for winning the gift card basket. You can find out more information about the EAP ventures on the following student created blogs: St. Stephen Entrepreneurs and Ok Gear.
A big congratulations to our Principal, Bob Santos, for being awarded the Principal of the Year award by the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario on Friday, April 21st. We all know what a hardworking and dedicated leader Mr. Santos is, this honour is well deserved!
School Council Meeting
The St. Stephen Catholic School Council will be holding their next meeting on Tuesday, April 25th. All interested parents are welcome to attend the meeting, which will begin in the school staff room at 6:30pm. More information about the council can be found at: http://ste.ocsb.ca/catholic-school-council.
School Climate Survey
Every two years the Ministry of Education requires that we conduct a School Climate Survey where we ask students, staff and families to give input on the environment in our schools. In Catholic schools, our Catholic teaching on the dignity of the human person is the starting point for all issues of diversity. Catholic schools strive to create an environment where all members of the school community feel safe, welcomed, included and valued. We ask that parents and guardians take a few minutes to fill out this survey. We ask that each family complete only one survey for each of the schools the children in your family attend. Each survey is linked to the school your child attends.
School Mass and Education Week
We will be having a school mass in the gym on Friday, April 28th, during second block, with Monsignor Muldoon, to celebrate Easter and to kick off our Catholic Education Week festivities. All parents and members of our school community are invited to attend.
St. Stephen Earth Week
Next week we will be celebrating our own St. Stephen Earth Week. Each day the students will be asked to wear a colour that represents one of the Earth’s environmental elements. The schedule of Earth colours will be as follows:
