The Knights Radiant Charter
Article I. The Knights
Section One: Admission to the Knights Radiant
An applicant to The Knights Radiant may be admitted by the Herald of Kings or the Herald of Admissions on an individual basis. Any prospective member-state is expected to be free of active wars and off any enemy target lists upon the time of his or her application. Member-states of the Knights Radiant pledge to desist from any malicious behavior towards fellow member-states.
Section Two: Expulsion from the Knights Radiant
The Herald of Kings may expel any member-states he finds unworthy to carry the banner of the Knights Radiant. The Herald of the People may also call a membership vote to expel a member, which requires 2/3 majority for expulsion among those voting.
Article II: The Royalty and Heralds
The upper government of The Knights Radiant consists of the King and Prince followed by the Herald of Growth, the Herald of Foreign Affairs, the Herald of Internal Affairs, and the Herald of War. The King leads the governing body, and the other Heralds lead their respective Corps, which consists of Knights willing to assist with the functioning of the alliance. The Prince assists the King in the day to day operations of the alliance. Each Herald has the power to accept, expel, promote, and demote any Knight into, from and within their own Corps.
Section One: King of the Heralds
The King of the Heralds is the supreme leader of the Knights Radiant and has the final say in all matters pertaining to the direction of the Knights, as well as overseeing all operations within the Knights Radiant. It is the responsibility of the Herald of Kings to appoint the other Heralds. Any holding those titles serve only in the Herald of King's favor and the King may reserve the right to strip and reappoint these titles as he pleases. He must also give a seal of approval over applying states or alternately delegate a member to carry his seal for him. Should the King perish, or resign his duties, a designated heir shall assume his duties.
Section Two: Prince of Heralds
The Prince of Heralds is the heir to the throne. Second in charge of the Knights Radiant, the heir answers to no one but the King of the Heralds. The Prince of the Heralds assists the King of the Heralds. The Prince of the Heralds may appoint and dismiss any of the Heralds; though this is all at the discretion of the King of the Heralds.
Section Three: The Herald of War
The Herald of War is the supreme commander of the Knights Radiant armed forces. The Herald's duty is to take any and all measures necessary to secure the safety and well being of the Knights and to acquire resources necessary for both efficient grow and war. The Herald of War is expected to establish and maintain a military structure that allows for an efficient and active army. The Herald of War also controls all resource assets belonging to the Knights Radiant and her member-states. However, the Herald of War may not declare war on another sovereign alliance without the expressed permission of the King. The Herald of War may also create any titles or organizations he deems necessary to fulfill his duties. The High Prince of War will report to the Herald of War.
Section Four: The Herald of Foreign Affairs
The Herald of Foreign Affairs is the primary voices of the Knights Radiant and handle all diplomatic affairs pertaining to the Knights Radiant. The Herald of Foreign Affairs are expected to establish and maintain the Knight's Foreign Affairs Corps and to ensure the ambassadors of the Knights represent the goals and ideals of the alliance accurately. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of this Herald to negotiate all treaties between The Knights Radiant and foreign powers. Lastly, this Herald are expected to maintain the Knight's Embassy Row, purging inactive embassies and ensuring foreign diplomats are properly identified. The High Prince(s) of Foreign Affairs report to the Herald of Foreign Affairs.
Section Five: The Herald of Internal Affairs
The Herald of Internal Affairs facilitates the gathering of applicant nations to the Knights Radiant and ensures their proper education. This Herald also establishes and maintains the Academy of the Knights Radiant, which applicants are required to attend unless an exemption is given by the Herald of IA or the Herald of Kings. The Herald of IA is to mask all applicants who are deemed worthy of acceptance into the Knight's ranks and administer to them testing that will adequately assess their grasp of the knowledge deemed essential for all nations to have. Lastly, the Herald of IA is expected to establish and maintain systems of recruitment through which the Knights Radiant may accumulate applicants and is expected to work with the other Heralds to create and maintain guides, which will provide technical knowledge to the member-states of the Knights Radiant. The High Prince of Internal Affairs and the High Prince of Recruitment reports to the Herald of Internal Affairs.
Section Six: The Herald of Growth
The Herald of Growth controls all fiscal assets belonging to the Knights Radiant and her member-states. It is the duty of this Herald to provide for the growth of the Knights and her members and to allocate funds toward this goal. It is also the responsibility of this Herald create and maintain a banking infrastructure within the alliance. To this end, the Herald of Growth may also create any titles or organizations he deems necessary to fulfill his duties. In times of war it is expected of the Herald of Growth to work with the Heralds of War and Resources in regards to allocating monetary funds to member-states in need of aid.
Section Seven: The Herald of the People
The Herald of the People acts as an Ombudsman to the Knights Radiant to oversee government discussions and decisions and voice the concerns of the members. The Herald of the People will maintain Low gov access. Elections will be held every 2 months for this Herald and the First Knights of each order. Nominations will last for 48 hours, and voting will last for 48 hours as well. The First Knights will be selected for each order with more than 5 members. They will then select a Herald of the People from their number. This Herald may call a membership vote to remove other Heralds (sans the Herald of Kings). The vote will require a 2/3 majority for removal, at which point the Herald of Kings will appoint a replacement Herald. The Herald of the People may also call a membership vote to expel a member, which requires 2/3 majority for expulsion.
Article III: The High Princes
The lower government of The Knights Radiant consists of the High Princes. The High Princes' main duties are to help the Heralds with the running of the alliance.
Section One: The High Prince of War
The High Prince of War is expected to assist the Herald of War in maintaining an efficient military and resource management. In times of war, he is expected to help direct the armies of The Knights Radiant.
Section Two: The High Prince(s) of Foreign Affairs
The High Prince(s) of Foreign Affairs are expected to assist The Herald of Foreign Affairs in establishing and maintaining the Knight's Foreign Affairs Corps and to ensure the ambassadors of the Knights represent the goals and ideals of the alliance accurately.
Section Three: The High Prince of Internal Affairs
The High Prince of Internal Affairs’ duty is to organize forums and events to maintain the activity of the Knights Radiant. It is the duty of this herald to increase member retention and promote forum signups and activity. The High Prince of IA should also assist the Herald of IA as needed. The High Prince of Internal Affairs reports to the Herald of Internal Affairs.
Section Four: The High Prince of Recruitment
The High Prince of Recruitment’s duty is to recruit prospective members to the Knights Radiant.
Section Five: The High Prince of Growth
The High Prince of Growth’s duty is to assist the Herald of Growth in whichever way the Herald of Growth feels necessary.
Section Six: High Prince of Resources
The High Prince of Resource’s duty is to make sure that the bank's resources are up to date. This prince assists the Herald of Growth in day to day activity as well.
