Reading and Writing
Keep reviewing those Kindergarten words. The new words for this week are: what, school, does, not Our spelling feature for the week will be words with short a such as: cat, sat, map We will focus on identifying characters and character traits in the stories we read this week. Our writing focus will be to write a complete sentence with a capital letter and punctuation. |
In Science we are learning about apples. We have learned the parts of the apple and the life cycle of the apples. We also learned that there are more than 4,000 varieties of apples!

Math
This week we have been solving problems with unknown addends by counting on. For example: 3 + ? = 5. |
Looking ahead. We will be attending a YES concert at the Memorial Theater on the morning of Oct. 8. We will ride the bus and return to school before lunch. We have also planned a field trip to the pumpkin patch on Wednesday Oct 15. We will visit Boeshard Farms Countrie Acres in Danville. The details are still being finalized and more information will follow. We do know that the cost will be $10 per student. If this is a hardship for anyone, please let me know privately and I will get it covered. |

Student of the Week
Tessa M. Tessa is a great friend to her classmates! She loves to be helpful. Tessa likes cheering and going to specials. Her favorite is art. She loves playing with her sis. Tessa would like to be a teacher when she grows up! |
