Stanley Walter Arnheim’s family came to Pittsburgh’s Old Allegheny in the late 1800s.  Stanley was born in 1913 to Walter Arnheim and Millie Hollander, both from early German Jewish background.  Stanley moved to Cleveland, but returned to Pittsburgh in 1935.

 

He became active in the real estate field in 1938 and founded his own company, Stanley W. Arnheim, Inc. in 1942.  This company became known as Arnheim & Neely, Inc. in 1945 when Paul A. Neely, his friend, became his partner and remained so until Stanley Arnheim’s death in 1988.

 

Stanley became an active member of the community devoting much of his spare time to the Boy Scouts of America where he led Troop 14 of Allegheny Trails Council to many honors.  He served local and national scouting.  He was President of the Pittsburgh Board of Realtors, President of the National Institute of Real Estate Management, President of the local Management Institute, an active member of the City of Pittsburgh’s Human Relations Commission, Trustee of Rodef Shalom Congregation and many other local boards.  His impact on the lives of many young men will be remembered and cherished.
