ELA

Unit 1: Identity  Essential Question: “What Makes Me, Me?”

  • We wrote our own   Where I’m From, poems inspired by George Ella Lyon
  • We have added  figurative language and sensory details to enhance our  poems, shared with classmates, and self-assessed our work.
  • We have also read   a memoir, Names/Nombres, about the power of names in identifying who we are.

Math

  • Daily Agenda- Please use this link to stay up to date with what your 7th grader is doing in math.
  • We will have our first test the week of 09/09/24
  • Homework is required each week, you should have gotten an email about IXL. Please reach out if you have any questions.
  • The recommended amount of homework is 5 minutes per night, or 30 minutes per week.

We are getting to know how the science class will run all while learning lab safety and memorizing the scientific method.

This week we’ve examined the Columbian Exchange and the transatlantic slave trade. Next week we’ll start to look at the absolute monarchies of Europe and kick off a project on absolutism in world governments.
