What is the ANZ Olympic Schools Programme
Elm Park has recently registered with ANZ to join their ‘ANZ Olympic School Program’. As a registered school, we’ll receive a kit of Olympic resources and merchandise that will help inspire and motivate our students.
In addition to this, if you, your family members or friends are looking to take a home loan, or increase your current home loan over $50k, speak with your local ANZ representative. If you draw your home loan with ANZ and identify our school we will receive 800 credits, equal to $400 spending power at the ANZ Awards Centre to spend on items like sporting equipment and computers. We will also receive the option to have a visit from an Olympic Ambassador as part of the programme.
You can find out more at anzolympicschools.co.nz or to discuss an ANZ home loan, speak with ANZ staff Pakuranga Martin Zhang Senior Personal Banker on 09 252 3871 or Jas Rajput Senior Personal banker on 09 252 3777.

Focus on Children
Kennings Poem by Joshua Leevers
Room 19 wrote Kennings Poems about themselves. We were learning to use interesting adjectives to describe ourselves and personalise our poems without actually saying who we were.
Photo weaving and All About Me Tagul Cloud
We created an All About Me Tagul Cloud by brainstorming ideas about us. Then we used a photograph of ourselves and weaved two pictures together (a colour picture and a black & white picture). We have put these on our wall together, they look really effective side by side.
Our buddy class
This year our buddy class is this awesome room 6. We have had so much fun visiting them on Friday afternoons to read stories and get to know them better. In a few weeks time we have planned a buddy class lunch date. We are going to join them under the big tree for lunch before the weather gets too cold and wet.
Our class treaty
At the beginning of the year we discussed the importance of rights and responsibilities and what we all needed to do to make sure we have the right to learn, be taught, be safe, be respected and be included in room 19. We created a "piu piu" and each person had a strip to write what they would try hard to achieve throughout the year. Then around the outside we create doodle art names.
Pakuranga Girls' Brigade
For girls aged 5 years and over - come and join the fun and friendship of Girls' Brigade. We offer a range of activities that encourage and grow girls in a safe friendly environment. We meet Wednesdays at Trinity Methodist Church, 474 Pakuranga Rd. Juniors from 6.00-7.30pm and Seniors from 6.30-8.30pm.
