Guidance notes

This public presentation is intended as a resource tool that anyone can use to give a general overview presentation of the conversation around ecocide, the global campaign Stop Ecocide International, and the work at legal, diplomatic and grass roots levels to make ecocide an international crime.

The presentation has 50-60 slides with speaker notes (or prompts) and will evolve organically over time - just as our campaign narrative evolves to keep up with the incredible speed at which this global conversation is growing.

Depending on your audience and the length of your talk, you might choose to utilise the speaker notes which sit alongside each slide or you may choose to simply flick through the slides at a faster pace to give an overall impression of the presentation, perhaps just reading out the headings of the slides as you speak more generally on the subject.

Certainly you could flick through the multiple slides which demonstrate examples of ecocide (numbers 4-23), without talking about them all - the images are so strong that the audience will certainly be affected by just the imagery.

Giving the presentation:

Presenting on Zoom, click THIS LINK to open the presentation.
Then share your screen and select the “Slideshow - Google Slides” browser window that has the presentation open- circled in red on the image - (don't select any of the “Screen” options).

This will ensure that you can see the presenter notes (detailed below) and that
your audience will only see the full slide image (no notes) - THIS LINK shows how it looks to your audience.

How to use:

The slideshow will open like this on your screen as the presenter:  

Go to the white PRESENT button at the top right of your screen and select PRESENTER VIEW

As the speaker, you will then see a pop up with prompt notes for each slide to aid your presentation:

The introductory slide gives some suggestions to get you started! Simply move through the slides at the speed you desire. 

In the top right hand corner it shows the length of time for which you have been talking. The slides aren’t timed to change automatically; you simply need to click onto the next one when you are ready.

Finally, at the end, you might like to remind the audience at the very end of 3 things they can do now to support this vital work. (choose which link(s) would best suit your audience)
