NHS Application Timeline

NHS Membership Requirements

NHS membership comes with a set of requirements that takes our highest achieving students above and beyond their current commitments and gives them an opportunity to add leadership and service experiences to their resumes, helping to set them apart from other applicants when it comes to both universities and the world of work.  

Please place student and parent initials to acknowledge the following membership requirements:

___  ___ 1. NHS membership dues are $20 annually, which goes towards a club shirt and honors cords for seniors at graduation time.

___  ___ 2. NHS meetings will be held monthly, and sometimes bi-monthly leading up to big events or deadlines.  Students are required to attend all meetings, and must communicate any absences with advisors through Band App, email, or in person (including illness, appointments, and sports) prior to.

___  ___ 3. NHS members will be encouraged to upload the “Band” app upon acceptance.  This will be our main form of communication amongst club members and advisors.

___  ___ 4. NHS members are required to participate in 5 hours of community service per quarter (20 hours per school year).  

___  ___ 5. Quarter 1 hours will be completed individually and students will be required to submit their hours digitally through a provided google form.

___  ___ 6. Quarter 2 hours will be completed in a group with other NHS members, to serve the community during the holidays (opportunities and dates will be provided and signed up for in advance)

___  ___ 7. Quarter 3 and Quarter 4 hours will be completed by planning, preparing, and participating in our annual event called “The Big Give.”  This year, The Big Give is set to take place on Saturday March 22nd.  Please mark your calendars now!  If you know there is a schedule conflict, advisors must be notified ASAP.   Alternate opportunities will be selected as needed.

Each applicant will submit a typed resumeˊ formatted to include the information below. Please print and attach your resume to the application agreement (page 1).
