The Woodhaven High School is located on Van Horn.  Van Horn is south of West Road.  The school is east of Telegraph and west of I-75 and Allen Road.  From Telegraph,   travel east on Van Horn to the High School.   From Allen Road and I-75, travel west on West Road, turn South (left) on Hall Road then west (right) on Van Horn to the High School.   (Taking Hall Road will avoid the trains on Allen and Van Horn)

Parking and Load In/Out

For Load In/Out, please enter the high school parking lot on the East side of the school (1).  Travel to the south side of the parking lot and unload / load at the Aux Gym (2).   Please park your trailers along the fence in the West Parking Lot (T).    The road along the Aux Gym (2) is ONE WAY, east to west.  

 

The school will be in session on Friday.  If you arrive before 7:45 am, all teams and visitors will need to park east of the tennis courts (3) and enter at the Athletic Entrance (A).  After 7:45 am, you may park in any space.

 

On Thursday night, Friday after 7:45 am and Saturday, teams and visitors may park in all of the lots.  Please enter the school at the Athletic Entrance (A) or the Aux Gym (2).  

Venue Rules

All teams must bring a team roster to each event. For any team member that has not been approved online,   a signed Consent & release form must also be provided.  

On Thursday night, an ADULT MUST walk with the drive team to the field even if an adult is not on the drive team.   Due to hallway constraints, the robot drive team will be walking through the pool area to take the robot to and from the field.   We cannot have any swimmers at our event.  Do not throw anything into the pool.

Per FIRST (At the Event 4.12.3), Teams can no longer tape, or affix items, signs or papers to walls, bleachers, floors or other site areas.   (i.e. no team safety signs, etc. on the walls)

The event Safety Glasses are for visitors only.  Teams will need to bring their own safety glasses for their team for the event.   Safety glasses MUST be worn in the pits at all times.  

The Pits will be open during Opening ceremonies.  A maximum of 4 people may remain in the pit to work on the robot.  The practice field will be closed during opening ceremonies.  If your team is in the first 3 matches of the day, you must be on the field by close of opening ceremony.  

Please make sure your robot firmware is up to date.  Please turn off Windows updates while competing.

Pit Information

Each team will have an 8’ deep by 9’ wide pit area.   Each team will have one electrical outlet.   Batteries may be charged in the pits.   The power will NOT stay on at night.

Teams may NOT daisy chain power strips in their pits.

Food and Pre-Order Lunches   -  Orders due on or before Monday, March 6.

Food will be allowed in the Main gym.  Beverages, closeable, are permitted in the auxiliary gym.  

We will not be able to use the cafeteria until 12:30 pm on Friday.  Each team will be assigned one table in the cafeteria.  On Thursday night and Friday, Teams may NOT leave anything at the table.    

There will be a concession stand on site.

Bearclaw Coffee House will also be at the event.  They will be selling coffee, tea, smoothies and other drinks.

Crock pots or hot plates are NOT allowed at this event.

Pre-order lunches will be available from 12:30 to 2 pm on Friday and 12:30 to 2 pm on Saturday. .   Reservations will be made by the team directly to Chelsea.Spencer@sodexo.com  734-789-2087  

$6.00 per person to be collected at door (Serving Friday and Saturday from 12:30 pm to 2pm)

Deli Bar (Made to order turkey, ham, assorted toppings in a wrap or bun) w/chips, cookie, and beverage.

Salad Bar (Mixed greens with assorted toppings and breadstick) w/cookie and beverage.

Street Eatz BBQ (BBQ with fresh baked roll or on a bed of nacho chips, and assorted sauces), w/cookie and beverage

$8.00 per pizza only – Pre order with pick up time

Pizza (16” Cheese or Pepperoni, 8 pieces) boxed

Beverages options for $1.00 include: Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Diet Sprite, and Bottled Water

Ala Carte purchases available throughout the event in vending machines for beverages and snacks.

 

Note: Street Eatz BBQ is made from turkey (thigh).
