Dreamers, paupers, sons and daughters,

folks like you and me.

They farmed the land, they worked the rails,

the factories and the mills.

On battlegrounds they fought our wars;

Blood, sweat, and tears they spilled.

Brick by brick they built our house;

Leaf by leaf, our family tree.

Day by day, unknown to them,

they left a legacy.

For drop by drop they gave the blood

that flows within our veins.
