3. Follow-Up Assignment #2: Interactive Map Activity. Click on the link below and follow the directions to create a map that shows your understanding of countries, locations, and populations that are affected by the need, availability, and use of water and water resources in the region.

2) On this interactive map site: navigate your way to the North Africa and Southwest Asia region of the world. Zoom in and out so you can get a full, detailed view of each of the countries, features, and bodies of water in this region.

3) Investigate and explore the themes and elements of physical and human geography by using the various tabs and choices on the left hand side of the map, and the tool bar in the upper right-hand corner of the map. Use these themes and map options to help you better understand the location of people, populations, land features, and natural resources in the region.

4) Next, find the tab labeled "MARKERS" on the left-hand side of the map. You will use these markers on the map to show your understanding of water and water resources in this region.

5) Find the "X" marker. Place 5-7 different "X" markers on your map to indicate and display 5-7 different important water resources in North Africa and Southwest Asia. Zoom in and out of the map to help you place the "X's" in exact, specific locations.

6) Find the FLAG marker. Place 5-7 different FLAG markers on your map to indicate and display 5-7 different countries and regions that are facing additional challenges, problems, or struggles because of the need, availability, and usage of water and water resources in this area.

7) Oil Prediction Activity: Now find the STAR marker. Place 5 different STAR markers on your map to indicate and display where you feel are the 5 largest, most important oil resource regions in North Africa and Southwest Asia. This part of the assignment is meant to get you thinking about where oil might be located in this region of the world, and how it might affect the people and lands here.
