Esteemed Master,
I sent you a telegram yesterday to let you know that the pictures have arrived safely, and that the large picture which you painted for myself [111091], and the smaller one [5572], are such that I can only speak of them with the greatest delight. Not only is the likeness surprising, but they also reflect my father’s whole being, and in order not to tire you too much I would only like to say that the whole family – children and grown-ups – marvel at it, debating about which of the two they prefer. You have given me and my wife great happiness, dear Master, with these pictures.
I hope you will allow me to turn briefly to material matters, and I am letting you know that I have deposited 16,000 Korona (Crowns) in your account with the K. u K. Priv. Österreichische Bodencreditanstalt,
I hope we shall be able to see you here during the winter and convey our grateful thanks to you viva voce.
Until then, I remain, with cordial greetings,
Your admirer,
János Harkányi
