2. Residents should be encouraged to report problems as they are discovered so that they may be addressed promptly.

3. Repair or replace defective hardware as necessary.

4. Inspect fasteners and mounting hardware. Tighten or replace loose and missing fasteners.

6. Lubricate hinges, door knobs and latch mechanisms using a dry lubricant such as graphite powder.
