Role & Purpose: to remove magma pool and stealth rock with defog, immune to Roar of HEATRAN because of Magic Bounce ability. Use Light Screen if it survives, allowing a hydro pump from Starmie. Alternative is to help it survive turn 3 better.

General Overview:

RESET FOR MAGMORTAR

TURN 1

All Damage and Steal Leftovers from Heatran. NEED ALL MONS FAINTED

TURN 2

All Damage. Gliscor reduces the speed of Heatran via Bulldoze. NEED ALL MONS FAINTED

TURN 3

Xatu/Pelipper sets rain and removes hazards with defog and boosting accuracy of Hydro Pumps. 2 Octillery do damage with Hydro Pump to trigger Roar, Xatu and Octillery are immune to Roar. Magmortar should OHKO Pelipper with Tbolt, if not then RNG is introduced so you may need to adapt or restart.

TURN 4

Starmie sets Light Screen, Pelipper sets rain with drizzle and uses Water Sport. 2 Flygons do damage.

TURN 5 onwards

SITUATIONAL TURNS, Just do damage until the timing of Fake Tears ideally below 30% HP of HEATRAN, If a mon faints and no rain weather, pick Politoed to set rain with Drizzle ability.

Mechanics

Weather: Sun is set by Torkoal and Magma Storm (first attack removes Rain, second sets Sun).

  • 100% Magmapool
  • An entry hazard that burns everything and deals 25% damage. Procs at the end of every turn as well. Requires 2 Defogs to clear.
  • 80% Stealth Rock
  • Normal Stealth Rock with the added effect of damage at the end of each turn.
  • 67% Roar
  • Use Suction Cups and Magic Bounce abilities to block.
  • 50% Iron Defense
  • +2 Defense.
  • 40% Adaptation
  • Makes the boss resistant to whatever type it has been hit by the most.
  • 25% Barrier
  • 4 Charges. The boss must be at -2 Special Defense in order to hit the damage cap.

See bottom for updated test setup. If you try the test method, feel free to let me know how it goes in a dm on disc! These should smooth out the adaptability rng, fake tears timing, and t3 rain.

Update Log:

  • Add light clay to Xatu, if it survives it can light screen and Starmie can attack
  • Add Pelipper to t3, Magmortar Tbolt should KO it and guarantees rain
  • Change Flygon to Life Orb and add HP Water, the chip damage should help it go down at a better time for helping fake tears user go in and HP Water allows damage after adaptation. Life orb Earth Power is 3.4-4%.
  • Change P1 Kingdra EVs, this should encourage Heatran to attack it ensuring fake tears comes in. Also allows flex with resetting rain if no Politoed can come in.
  • Change Starmie to 252 Sdef EV to make Heatran Solarbeam it
