  1. Match Process

  1. Role of Tournament Admins
  1. Responsibilities. Tournament Admins are Team Liquid contractors who are responsible for making judgments on all match-related issues, questions, and situations that arise before, during, and immediately after match play. Their oversight includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Tournament Admin Comportment. Tournament Admins must always conduct themselves in a professional and impartial manner, ensuring that no passion or prejudice is shown toward any player when issuing rulings.
  2. Finality of Judgment. A tournament admin's decision is final and cannot be reversed during the match, even if the judgment is later found to be incorrect. However, Team Liquid officials may, at their discretion, evaluate the decision after the match to determine whether the proper procedure was followed to ensure fairness. If it is determined that the correct procedure was not adhered to, Team Liquid officials reserve the right to invalidate the referee’s decision. Team Liquid officials will always have the final authority on all decisions made during the tournament.
  1. Pre-Tournament Setup
  1. Pre-tournament Check-In. Players are expected to check in to the tournament via their region specified check-in channel on the Chronon Cup Discord Server. Check-in will be open 1 hour before the tournament’s listed start time. Players who do not check in within that hour are disqualified from participating.
  1. Pre-Match Setup
  1. Timeliness of Match Start. Players are expected to resolve any setup issues within the allotted time, and the match should begin as scheduled. Delays due to setup problems may be permitted at the sole discretion of Team Liquid officials. Penalties for tardiness may also be assessed at their discretion.
  1. For the first game of each day, players will have a 15-minute grace period after the designated match time before they are subject to disqualification.
  2. For subsequent games, players will have a 5-minute grace period before they are subject to disqualification.
  1. Game Lobby Creation. The top-seeded player in each group will be responsible for inviting all group participants to the game lobby. Referees may determine a different method for how the game lobby will be created.
  1. Tournament Regulations

  1. Disconnections
  1. Players are responsible for their own internet connection. A remake may be considered at the discretion of an admin in the following situations, but a remake is not guaranteed in either case:
  1. All players are required to remain for the duration of any broadcasted matches they have started. If a player preemptively leaves a match after losing they must tell an admin and wait for approval to leave.
  1. Point Submission. The players who come first and second in each lobby are required to screenshot the result of their lobby and submit it to admins, either on Discord or the official tournament platform.
  2. No Shows. Signing up for the tournament commits you to playing all of your games. Dropping from a tournament early without legitimate reason will disqualify you from future Team Liquid tournaments.
  1. No-Show/Drop-Out Contingency. In the event of a no-show or drop-out resulting in fewer players than required to fill a full lobby, players will compete alongside random players. These random players will not influence the official placements—finishing behind a random player will not affect a player's score for that game. For example, if a player finishes 2nd and a non-participant finishes 1st, the tournament player will still receive the points corresponding to 1st place.
  1. Tournament Day
  1. Definition of Terms
  1. Invite Time. The specific period allocated for players to send and accept game invitations to form lobbies for the next game’s Start Time.
  2. Start Time. The designated time at which the game is scheduled to begin.
  3. Tech Time. The specific period allocated for players who were in the lobby before the Start Time to fix any technical issues.
  1. Technical issues include, but are not limited to:
  1. Players are required to immediately report any technical issues to the Tournament Administrators as soon as they occur or give notice in advance if there are concerns about potential tech issues. Failure to communicate before the designated times will result in disqualification.
  2. If the technical issue occurs and cannot be resolved before the first game of the day, the affected player forfeits their spot, and a waitlist player will be called in, if applicable.

Example:

Invite Time: 12:50 PM

Start Time: 1:00 PM

Tech Time: 1:10 PM

Blue joined the lobby at 12:50 PM. When the lobby leader initiated the game at 1:00 PM, Blue's computer CPU malfunctioned. Blue promptly notified the Tournament Official by 1:01 PM and was granted until 1:10 PM to resolve the issue. Despite efforts, Blue could not rectify the computer problem by 1:10 PM, leading to their forfeiture of the game. Consequently, a waitlist player was substituted into the match.

  1. If a Technical Issue arises during the tournament day and cannot be resolved promptly, the affected player will receive one loss and may join the subsequent game. Failure to join the subsequent game will result in disqualification from the tournament.

Example: When Game 2 ended, Liquid experienced a power outage. Despite the lobby and Tournament Officials waiting through the break period, there was no communication from Liquid. As a result, Game 3 started with 7 players. Liquid was then seeded for Game 4 but did not show up, leading to their disqualification from Game 4 onwards.
