Attendance Policy for In-Person Events
We value the effort and planning organisers put into our meetups. This policy has been created in response to a significant number of no-shows and instances where members fail to show up at the designated meetup spot.
Why This Matters
Organising meetups requires time and effort. When members sign up for an event and fail to attend or cancel at the last minute without a valid reason, it not only disrupts the event but also shows a lack of consideration for the organisers and other attendees.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances, such as illness or emergencies, can occasionally prevent attendance. However, habitual no-shows or last-minute cancellations are not acceptable.
Definition of a No-Show
For the purposes of this policy, a "no-show" is defined as:
Removal from Group
If a member accrues three no-shows without providing a reason via messaging the organiser, it may indicate that the group is not a good fit for them.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us create successful and enjoyable meetups for everyone.
PLEASE NOTE:
A "no-show" will not be recorded for members who are in good standing and provide the organiser with a valid reason for their absence, or who typically do not miss events without prior notice.
