Elected Officers

President

The President is responsible for leading Board meetings, presiding at AIFD events, serving as liaison with facilities used for AIFD events, leading the planning of special events (e.g., workshops, parties), carrying out Board decisions and serving as backup Treasurer.

 

Vice-President

The Vice-President is responsible for assisting the President in their duties, serving as primary backup in the President’s absence, doing publicity and welcoming guests at AIFD events, serving as custodian of AIFD’s “cultural” files and leading the planning for AIFD parties.

 

Program Director

The Program Director is responsible for scheduling and monitoring programming at AIFD’s weekly dances, recommending recording acquisitions and the management and maintenance of AIFD’s physical assets.

Teaching Director

The Teaching Director is responsible for scheduling and monitoring teaching at AIFD’s weekly dances (both the beginner’s class and the featured teaching) and for recruiting and training teachers.

Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for taking minutes at Board meetings and special meetings of the membership, maintaining AIFD's physical correspondence and other documents, preparing the content for AIFD's weekly e-newsletter, collecting names and addresses of new or potential members and maintaining a roster of active members.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for collecting and depositing money paid at weekly dance programs, maintaining AIFD financial accounts, signing checks, issuing a financial report every three months and filing required IRS tax forms each year.
