Mission Statement

We, the parents of St. Gregory School, in partnership with the teachers, staff, and students, are dedicated to strengthening our relationship with the Church, our home and the school by fostering a spirit of cooperation in mutual efforts of providing a Catholic education to our children.

Meetings

PTG meeting dates for the 2021/22 school year are scheduled for September 21, November 17,  February 3, and April 5. All families are invited to attend. Meetings begin at 7:00 and are held in the school library. Dates and times are subject to change.

Fundraisers and Events Descriptions:

Super Bingo

We have the BEST BINGO IN THE ‘BURGH!  This is our biggest fundraiser and many volunteers are needed.  All bingo’s are held on Sunday and the dates for 2021/22 are:  October 3rd, November 7th, December 5th, February 5th, March 6th, April 3rd and May 1st.  Volunteers are needed for admissions, concessions, ticket sales, set up and clean up.  7th and 8th grade students are encouraged to volunteer as food servers.  Sign up here:

Kindergarten & New Family Ice Cream Social

The PTG board welcomes new families and encourages new students to meet each other to get acquainted.  Event is held mid August.

Back to School Party

Held the first week in September, this is a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate the beginning of a new school year.  There are games, music, face-painting and much more!  PTG supplies the main dish and we ask families attending to bring a side/dessert to share.  

Classroom Parent Coordinator ~ Jennifer Dilts

Each class will have a classroom parent(s) who will be the primary contact between the parents of their grade and the PTG.  The parent(s) assist the PTG in obtaining volunteers and donations as requested throughout the year.

Believe Kids ~ Chanin Woods

This fundraiser offers a variety of products to choose from including candles, holiday items, kitchen gadgets, sweet treats & more!  There are 2 catalogs to shop from- 'Magical Holidays Fall Catalog' and 'Otis Spunkmeyer Ready to Eat'.  You can choose to have your items ship to the school (at no cost) or items can ship directly to your home.  There is free shipping if you purchase $75 worth of product!

Back to School Daffin Candy Bars ~ Jenna Rape

The oldest child in each family will receive 1 box of Daffin Candy Bars on orientation day.  Each case contains 36 candy bars in different varieties and are priced at $1 per bar.  Extra boxes will be available if anyone is interested. Payment will be due Monday, September 20th. Please send checks made out to St. Gregory PTG (or cash) into the school office in an envelope clearly marked with the child’s name and please mark “Candy Bars” on the envelope AND on the check memo line.

Great Pumpkin Race ~ Mark Harmanos

The PTG and the Athletic Association will sponsor a Halloween 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Sunday, October 24th. There will be prizes for the best costumes and an after party in the lower school parking lot.  This should be a fun event for the whole family!  This event has been a great success for St.Gregory in the past and we need your help to make it a success again this year.

Little Caesars ~ Chairperson Needed

Stock your freezer with quick dinners for those busy nights! The Little Caesars pizza sale will run the month of October. You can also order online. Since these are refrigerated items, we do require pick up to be on October 8. An email will be sent out with a pick-up time 1 week prior. If you cannot be there for pick up, please place your order online so it will be mailed directly to your home. Please send checks made out to St. Gregory PTG (or cash)  into the school office in an envelope clearly marked with the child’s name and please mark “Little Caesars” on the envelope AND on the check memo line.

Boone Supply/Mixed Bag Design ~ Debi Allen

Environmentally friendly bags and related items.  Forget paper or plastic, these reusable bags are green and gorgeous! Order forms and catalogs will come  home in mid October. Orders will be due by November 1st and items will be available for pick-up  a few weeks later.   Please send checks made out to St. Gregory PTG (or cash)  into the school office in an envelope clearly marked with the child’s name and please mark “Mixed  Bag” on the envelope AND on the check memo line.

Cold Turkey Shootout

This is a JV basketball tournament that runs in mid November. JV Teams from various schools come together to play ball. This event is sponsored by the PTG and the Athletic Association and is a great fundraiser for the school. Several volunteers are needed for this event to run the concession stand, man the front door and other various jobs.

Purse Raffle ~ Chanin Woods

Online raffle featuring exquisite purses from designer brands- Coach, Kate Spade & Tory Burch to name a few!  We also have a 50/50 raffle with a maximum prize of $600!  Watch for raffle dates online at facebook.com/stgregzeliepurse

Gosia’s Pierogies ~ Chairperson Needed

Another quick fix for those busy nights are frozen pierogies from Gosia’s!  With many flavors to choose from, there’s something for everyone.  Look for an order form in November.  Please send checks made out to St. Gregory PTG (or cash)  into the school office in an envelope clearly marked with the child’s name and please mark “Gosia’s Pierogies” on the envelope AND on the check memo line.

Christmas Scratch-Off  ~ Debi Allen

Don’t miss your chance to hit it big!  The winner receives 2 packages each of: $30 / $20 / $10 / $5 PA Scratch-Off lottery tickets, plus $100 CASH (that's 360 Scratch-Offs total!!l).  The winning ticket will be pulled via a live-stream drawing on Facebook in December.

Santa's Workshop ~ Patti McClellan

Students are given a chance to do their Christmas shopping during the school day at Santa’s Workshop.  The kids love to have the opportunity to shop for their parents, sibling(s), etc. on their own. Volunteers are  needed to assist students when shopping and to wrap their gifts.

Breakfast with Santa ~ Chairperson Needed

This year’s pancake breakfast with Santa will be held in mid December.  This is a great way to meet other families and socialize with friends.  The event will be held in the gym this year.  Many volunteers are needed for this event to be a success.  7th and 8th grade students are asked to volunteer.  

Putt For Fun ~ Chairperson Needed

Invite your friends to come play a round of mini golf and see our amazing school!  This event is held the same night as Open House during Catholic Schools Week in January.  Snacks will be available in the concession stand. Volunteers will be needed for setup, concession stand, golf course attendants and cleanup.

Zroni Rolls ~ Miranda Sparacino

Need a quick fix to feed a crowd?  Put a few Zroni pepperoni rolls in your freezer!  Each one feeds 3-4 people and only takes 30 minutes to cook!  Easy and delicious!  Look for order forms in January.  Please send checks made out to St. Gregory PTG (or cash)  into the school office in an envelope clearly marked with the child’s name and please mark “Zroni’s” on the envelope AND on the check memo line.

Gosia’s Pierogies ~ Chairperson Needed

Auction ~ Kelly DeCaria

This the second largest fundraiser of the school year. All classrooms are assigned to help. We need many hands to help make this event the success that it has always been. If you are interested in helping, please contact the school office or any PTG member. The Auction will be held in the spring.

Staff Appreciation ~ Melissa Snyder

Several times throughout the school year the committee works to provide surprises, treats and other items for the caring and hard-working teachers and staff.

Kindergarten Graduation ~ First Grade Chairperson Needed

Committee of first grade parents organize the social held after graduation in the cafeteria.

Dine & Donate ~ Lynn Mainolfi

St. Gregory PTG will again host “Dine & Donate” nights throughout the school year. Locations will vary and a percentage of all sales from St. Gregory families will come back to the school. Take a break from cooking and support St. Gregory at the same time.

Fish Fry ~ Chairperson Needed

These dinners are open to the entire community and are usually served from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Many volunteers will be needed to set up, serve, and clean up. Students in grades 7 and 8 are encouraged to volunteer their time. Students in grades 5 and 6 are welcome to work as well but must work with their parent(s).

St. Gregory school receives rewards from various programs:
