General Information

Farmer owned and operated, Good Food-Good People (GFGP) serves as a link between the agricultural community in the Blue Ridge Mountains/Piedmont area and the region’s market shoppers, fine-dining chefs, CSA sharers and local food lovers. Since its roots as a collaboration of three small vegetable farms in 1996, GFGP has blossomed to represent over 50 producers of fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs and mushrooms, pasture-raised meats, free-range eggs, farm cheeses, breads and baked delicacies, value-added foods, natural hand crafts and lots more–all originating within a 100-mile radius of our Floyd home base and your front door!

We prioritize certified organic or biologically-grown sources whenever possible for all our fresh produce, and we always demand pastured free-range conditions for all meat, egg and cheese animals. All items in our farm shares are sourced from a collaborative of regional small farmers, ranchers and food entrepreneurs. That keeps our food miles low, our environmental impact minimal and our produce super-fresh! When you purchase local farm-fresh foods from GFGP, you become an active participant in the local farmer-consumer network that encourages positive alternatives for nourishing ourselves and our community.

Here are the many ways you can connect with Good Food from/for Good People!

Good Food Good People Meat, Eggs and Cheese.

GFGP functions as an aggregator for various local producers of grass-pastured beef, pork, lamb, rabbit, chicken and turkey meats, as well as eggs and cheeses.  Because we prioritize healthy and humane conditions for meat and dairy animals, we offer only grass-pastured, antibiotic free meats that come from animals with no restrictions on fresh air, clean water, sunshine and room to move. All meats are hormone-free and antibiotic-free, not to mention extremely tasty!

Beef, pork and lamb cuts are prepared in USDA-certified facilities, and small-farm poultry operations are inspected under VADACS state policies. Our XL brown pastured eggs from Weathertop Farm are huge, fresh and flavorful – available year ‘round, too. GFGP features local and regional cheeses, numerous fresh and aged varieties from high-quality BGH-free sources, hand-crafted from goat and cow milk.  We offer numerous varieties of meats and cheeses from animals fed non-GMO feeds; Animal Welfare Approved facilities highlighted.

GFGP meats, eggs and cheeses can be pre-ordered through our virtual market program, A La Carte (gfgpalacarte@swva.net) or purchased at the following area farmer markets or pickup locations:
