The picture has arrived + delights us + we both find that the dreamy Garibaldi on the mountain plateau [6987] works harmoniously and charmingly. Should you wish to exhibit it,

a spot of varnish must be removed that has pooled into a corner and has sent a small thick stream down the picture. Could you not one day come for tea or after tea and discuss the hanging of the painting? I have already thought about it but it would be very nice to see you here surrounded by your works and models. Would today be possible?

Lieber Herr von Laszló,

Das Bild ist angelangt + entzückt uns + wir finden beide, daß der träumende Garibaldi in der Hochebene harmonisch + reizend wirkt. Sollten Sie es ausstellen wollen, so müßte ein Firniß Fleck entfernt werden, der sich in einer Ecke angesiedelt hat + einen kleinen dicken Fluß das Bild hinabsendet. Könnten Sie nicht einmal hier Thee trinken oder nach dem Thee kommen um das Hängen des Bildes zu besprechen? Zwar habe ich schon meine Gedanken darüber, aber es wäre sehr nett Sie hier im Kreise Ihrer Modelle und Werke zu sehen. Heute ginge es wohl nicht?

Mit sehr lebhaftem Dank, - der, das dürfen Sie mir glauben, ein dauernder sein wird so lange wir uns an Ihren Werken erfreuen.
