WOLMER WOOD,

MARLOW COMMON,

MARLOW, BUCKS.

Dec. 20th 1926.

My dear friend

I am enclosing the Pastel Society private view cards so that you can enter the date in your engagement book – I send a couple in case Mrs de Laszlo would like to pass one on to anyone and of course I can send her some more if she would like to have them.

You asked me about someone who does stained glass and I suggest an old friend of mine, James Clark – here is his address, 44. Rusthall Avenue, Bedford Park W.4.[1] He is an able artist, a member of the Royal Watercolours Institute, and he has done a lot of stained glass work for churches and public buildings – incidentally, he happens to be an admirer of you, and that, naturally, proves him to be a man of taste.

As I shall not see you before Xmas – if I come up on Wednesday it will only

be for a few hours – I hope that if you feel like a run in the car you will remember that we are well within reach and that we shall be delighted to see you. If you ‘phone us before you start we will both be here to greet you as my wife would then be sure to be in.

I carried off your portrait on Thursday; it was received here with loud cheers, Ever so many thanks for letting me have it.

Our heartiest greetings and all good wishes for Xmas to you all. | Always yours

A.L. Baldry.
