Mayberry Meet-up 2019 (Schedule)
Mt. Airy, NC 19-21 July 2019
Hello Mayberry!
I'm putting together the "schedule" of things to do during the Meet-up weekend but PLEASE realize that nothing is mandatory and no one will have hurt feelings if you choose to do things other than those suggested. Join in as it fits into your vacation schedule.
That said, we *REALLY* need to know if you’re coming to dinner at the Depot on Friday AND if you’ll be eating Sub Sandwiches with us on Saturday. If you’re getting this by email, you already completed the online registration form so Jan and I know your plans. If you’re ONLY seeing this schedule online, please go to https://goo.gl/forms/NY3X8rxBZD5HkPYM2 and register. (No need to register again.)
Registration for dinner at The Depot is CLOSED as of 10 July 2019. There are 145 people registered to attend the Mayberry Meet-up weekend. 122 of those will be gathering at The Depot (details/time below) on Friday and 105 are eating SubWay sandwiches together on Saturday. IT’s gonna be BIG!
The below are options/suggestions for things to do in Mt. Airy.
The main event options for the weekend are attending Betty Lynn's autograph session on Friday (1-3pm), Neal Brower’s Lecture on “The Education of Ernest T. Bass” on Saturday at 2pm, and the evening gazebo gatherings (Friday and Saturday) at the Mayberry Motor Inn to visit, get to know one another, play trivia, character look-a-like contest, and watch episodes (when it gets dark). For more info on getting Betty’s autograph, Neal’s lecture, and the Andy Griffith Museum, visit the “News & Events” sections of the museum website at http://www.andygriffithmuseum.org/ or call (336) 786-1604.
The Andy Griffith Museum was completely remodeled back in 2017. If you haven’t seen it, or even if you have, you will want to plan time to tour all the exhibits.
The best part of both Friday and Saturday is getting together over at the Mayberry Motor Inn gazebo area ....on Saturday we'll order Subway platters (everyone eating is expected to contribute $5 per/ person with a $20 max per family) .....and watching episodes of The Andy Griffith Show together.
IMPORTANT:
In an attempt to communicate better while at the meet-up, I've created a "Remind" class for the Mayberry Meet-up. Remind is normally used for teachers to communicate with their classes but it works great for keeping everyone informed about any schedule changes during the Meet-up weekend.. If you can get TEXT messages on your phone, this will allow me to text all of you as a group will keeping your contact information private and not shared with the entire group. No personal information will be collected and you will ONLY get text messages from me related to the Mayberry Meetup.
To receive messages via text about the Mayberry Meetup 2019,
