Seven hundred years ago, at sunset, on October 3rd, died St. Francis of Assisi – “the most Christlike of Christians” – and we propose throughout October this year, to hold a Festival at the Guildhouse to glorify his memory, and to consider his life and its meaning for us.

The Festival will take place at the GUILDHOUSE, ECCLESTON SQUARE, S.W.1.

[There follows a list of lectures and other events, including]:

Oct. 7th. Lecture by G.K. CHESTERTON, Esq.[2] (if in England)

Oct. 16th Conference on Franciscan Ideals in relation to Art and Learning [asterisked, underlined and handwritten in Doctor Agnes Maude Royden’s hand] : “This is where we want you.”

Oct. 17th. Miss MAUDE ROYDEN will preach on “St. Francis Preaching to the Birds”.

Oct. 24th. Miss MAUDE ROYDEN will preach.
