Dear Mr de Laszlo

I told the Eton people about your kind consent to paint a duplicate [37] of your picture of Alf[red] Lyttelton [6127] in the autumn.[2] 

I told his widow who was

overjoyed.[3] She has the picture in the country at [illegible] & will let you have it whenever you desire.

I told her you had mentioned September. The Eton people have written to me asking what would be your charge. as

they have to make arrangements ([given?] it would not be ^[particly?] [illegible].)

[3] Lyttelton died on 5 July 1913. On 31 August 1913, de László received a letter from Lord Lyttelton’s widow, Edith, the owner of the original portrait [6127]: “Thank-you so much for your kind letter. I am indeed glad you are going to make a replica of my portrait for Eton [37] – it is very good of you to consent. I am arranging for my portrait [6127] to go at once to Mr Paul Laib – it is now at our country house...could you arrange with Mr Laib to send my picture straight on to your studio” (DLA074-0002, letter from Edith Lyttelton to de László, 31 August 1913).
