Dear Sir,
In furtherance of our conversation of yesterday regarding an exhibition of your works in our Gallery next June,[1] we would submit the following terms:-
In consideration that the main exhibits would not be for sale, we would charge you 250 guineas plus all out of pocket expenses connected with the exhibition. Further, on those works that are for sale, the usual commission of 25% on the completion of a sale.
You will, of course, appreciate that the month you have chosen is the very best month of the year, and in holding the exhibition we will of necessity have to postpone our summer exhibition which we usually open at that time of year.
We therefore hope that these terms will please you, and we hope if you decide on holding the exhibition here it will be the success we anticipate.
With reference to the picture by Munkascy,[2] we hope that at the very special price we made you, viz. £760, we will have the pleasure of adding it to your collection.
We look forward to the pleasure of hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Wallis & Son
