BLACKFRIARS,
LONDON, E. C. 4.
22nd May, 1924.
P. A. de Laszlo, Esq.,
3, Fitzjohn’s Avenue,
N.W.3.
Dear Sir,
Lord Leverhulme has approved the loan of the original of his portrait by yourself [6043] to the French Exhibition.[1]
It is usual when pictures are loaned to Exhibitions that the costs in connection therewith, including insurance against all risks in transit from the time of collection to the time of return, should be discharged by the borrowers.
I presume, therefore, that the Exhibition authorities will arrange accordingly, and should be glad if you would kindly say whether it will be in order for me to communicate direct with Messrs. Wallis & Son of 120 Pall Mall, in connection therewith.
The portrait as you are aware is at present at the Sun Engraving Co., Watford, and will remain at their premises until about the end of the current month.
Will you kindly let me hear from you in reference to the matter at your convenience.
Yours faithfully,
A.[E.?] Newton
