Dear Master,

I have today properly received the necklace that you so kindly sent me – and I send you my grateful thanks for the

trouble which you must obviously have had with it I thank you also for your kind letter, to which I am replying today – because I wanted to confirm the receipt of the necklace with medal.^[1]

Heute habe ich die Kette welche Sie so freundlich waren mir zu senden richtig empfangen – und sage ich Ihnen meinen besten Dank für die Mühe welche Sie sich offenbar geben mußten. Auch danke ich Ihnen für Ihren freundlichen Brief, den ich erst heute beantworte – den[n] ich wollte Ihnen bei der Gelegenheit den Empfang der Kette mit Medalie [sic] bestäthigen.
