Is the district planning on starting a High School Fine Arts Academy and what is the time frame to start Fine Arts Academy?

        The district is currently exploring options for our students, including middle school magnet programs and additional courses for the Health Science Academy.  A High School Fine Arts Academy is a possibility in the future, however, a time frame has not been established.

If started:

 Answers to questions A-F have not been determined.  The needs of the students, including funding, will help answer these questions.
A. Where will it be housed?
B. How will it be funded?
C. Will the students in the Fine Academy be counted as part of the enrollment at the traditional high school?
D. Will students be able to participate in the Fine Arts Academy and the traditional campus and able to participate in UIL Competitions.
E. How will the Fine Arts Academy be equipped with necessary material, instruments, and supplies? What budget will be used?
F. Has anyone researched how the High School Academy will impact the traditional high school band program as far as student numbers.
G. Is the District of Innovation basically a charter school model?

The District of Innovation allows flexibility for school districts and is intended to meet the needs of each designated district.
