2025 COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION

Date: Saturday, June 7th at McKenzie Stadium

Time: Ceremony starts at 2:00pm. Gates open at 12:30pm

Place: McKenzie Stadium, 2205 NE 138th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98684

Graduation Rehearsal: Wednesday, June 4th at 12:00pm. All seniors participating in the graduation ceremony MUST report to rehearsal at McKenzie Stadium by 11:45am. This is a MANDATORY event. Allow about two hours for rehearsal. Dress for weather conditions. Graduates may park at the stadium for rehearsal. Cap and gown are not needed for rehearsal.  Graduation medallion will be provided at rehearsal.  There will be transportation for students that need it from MVHS to McKenzie.  Bus leaves at 11:30am and will return at 2:00pm after rehearsal.  

Tickets: Tickets are required for entrance to the ceremony. There is no charge for tickets and all tickets will be distributed to students at Mountain View High School High School.  Each graduate will receive SIX tickets for Commencement. Tickets will be distributed to seniors that are academically cleared starting June 4th - June 5th. Clearance sheets will be available in CWI/AP GOV/ECON June 3rd.  Running Start students please come to the counseling center.  June 5th, 3:30pm at senior bbq extra tickets if available will be distributed to students.  

Alternate Viewing Opportunities: The graduation ceremony will be live streamed and shown on the EPS YouTube channel.  www.youtube.com/evergreenschools. Comcast will be broadcasting EPS graduation ceremonies live on channels 28 (SD) and 328 (HD).

Entrances: Guests and family must enter McKenzie Stadium at the locations listed on graduation tickets.

Handicapped Seating: Reserved seating is available near the top of the stadium for handicapped persons and senior citizens. The first five top rows of each seating section will be marked for handicapped and senior citizens. There will be a roped off section of seating available for wheelchairs located on the upper platform of the South side section of the stadium. On site parking is available for handicapped individuals who have handicapped parking placards/license plates. This space is limited and available on a first come basis located on the South upper parking lot.

Hearing Impaired: A small section of seats will be reserved for the hearing impaired. Ushers and security guards will direct spectators to designated areas as needed.

Senior Line-Up on Graduation Day: Seniors are to report to Mountain View High School Cafeteria by 12:00pm. Students need to be dressed in their cap, gown, and medallion.  Separate dressing areas for students will be provided.

  • Buses will load graduates at 12:30pm
  • Buses will depart from MVHS at 12:45pm and head to McKenzie Stadium.  Once at the stadium, there will be opportunities to take pictures with family and friends.
  • At 1:30pm, seniors will be called to line up and receive final instructions.  NO picture taking will be allowed at this time.  Your cooperation during the assembling of the line-up is very important.

Parking: Parking at McKenzie Stadium is limited to upper South level and the lower Northwest level. Entrance to the upper level is from 138th Avenue and the entrance to the lower level is from 28th St. Additional parking is available at Evergreen High School, Burton Elementary, and Cascade Middle School.  District buses will run from these locations dropping patrons off at the upper McKenzie gate and also return patrons after the ceremony. Parking is also available at a private lot on 138th Ave and 28th St, but there will not be shuttle service from the private lot. ADA Disability Parking will be available in the upper McKenzie lot.

Bag Restrictions: The following items are allowed at entry to McKenzie Stadium: clear plastic bags (no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”), small purse or clutch (no larger than 6.5”), diaper bags with baby or child, binocular cases with binoculars and one gallon clear plastic freezer bag. Non-allowable items include backpacks of any size, alcoholic beverages, noisemakers, glass or plastic bottles, food, drink, ice chests/coolers/cooler bags or weapons. All items are subject to search. All prohibited items will be denied at the gates and may not be stored at or near McKenzie Stadium. Evergreen Public Schools will not be responsible for property damage or lost/stolen articles.

Camera/Video: Pictures must be taken from your seat in the audience. No monopods and tripods allowed. Also, no one will be allowed on the track, playing field, or in front of the graduates to take pictures. Grad-Images is the official commencement photographer for our school and will be taking photographs of each graduate receiving their diploma. After the Ceremony: **Graduates will be escorted back to the buses and returned to MVHS** Please depart the facility promptly and in an orderly fashion after the ceremony. It is requested that you meet your graduate back at Mountain View High School following the Ceremony.

Alcohol/Tobacco Use: Any persons who are found using alcohol or other drugs will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. The use of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs is strictly forbidden at any school district event.

Valuables: There is no secure storage for purses, cameras, and other valuables at McKenzie Stadium. Please leave your valuables at home or in your parent’s care.

Attire: All seniors will wear their cap, tassel, gown, and medallion for the Commencement.

Cap and Gown Distribution: Announcements and ordered materials through Royal-T/Herff Jones will be distributed at the May 1st senior meeting (5th period, main gym). If you are not able to make the meeting, ordered items can be picked up in the main office during school hours.

Cap Decor: Traditionally, many seniors choose to decorate their cap for graduation. Cap decor must be appropriate, flat and not protrude off the sides or top of the cap. A new cap will be issued to any student that does not meet the guidelines.

Picking Up Diplomas and Final Transcripts: Please see “Senior Timeline” below.

Chromebooks/Library Books/Textbooks: All Chromebooks, textbooks, and library books are to be returned as soon as possible. Seniors will not be cleared for transcripts and graduation tickets until all books have been returned and student account fines paid. Fines can be paid to the ASB office. Seniors may begin returning books immediately or as soon as they are not needed for classroom assignments. Textbooks and library books are due May 31st. Chromebooks with power cords/chargers and textbooks are due June 4th and 5th as part of the clearance process.

Senior Awards Night: Seniors and Parents, Please save the date of June 4th for our Senior Awards Ceremony at MVHS.  We will be hosting Senior Awards to acknowledge the accomplishments of many of our 2025 Graduates.  This event will start at 6pm in the MVHS Auditorium.  During this event we honor scholarship winners, departmental awards, academic scholars, as well as military enlistment.  Many of the awards and the recipients are yet to be determined or they are not disclosed until the event.  Therefore, we are not able to inform you if your student will be acknowledged prior to the event.   

Baccalaureate: This event is sponsored by Mountain View Senior Parents Association.  Baccalaureate will be at 6:00pm on June 5th.  Approximately 1 hour for the program in the auditorium and then an hour for people to view senior boards, take photos, and have refreshments in the commons area.

This is a non-denominational religious ceremony meant to be inspirational and motivating. This event is OPTIONAL and there is no ticket required to attend. Graduates please wear your caps and gowns. Senior memory boards will be on display before and after the ceremony.  If you have any questions please reach to the SPA at mvhsgrads2025@gmail.com

Senior Memory Boards: Senior memory boards are an optional activity for seniors and their families. Senior Memory Boards typically display photos of the student from both past and present. Tri-folds of Seniors will be put on display. Start gathering photos to put these together, should you choose to do so. Please DO NOT create poster boards, as we cannot attach to walls. The tri-folds will be displayed on the cafeteria tables. Please let the Senior Parent Association know if you will be submitting a memory board.  Questions regarding Senior Memory Boards can be directed to the Senior Parent Association, mvhsgrads2025@gmail.com.

Grad Party: A post-graduation drug and alcohol-free grad party will be held at an undisclosed location, hosted by the Senior Parent Association.  Only MVHS graduating seniors may attend the party. Click here for the MVHS 2025 SPA home page. Any questions may be directed to mvhsgrads2025@gmail.com

Moving Up Assembly: This PM assembly will be on June 5th in the MVHS Main Gym.

Senior BBQ: Senior Barbecue from 3:15pm-4:30pm.  This is for Mountain View’s Class of 2025 graduates only.  THIS IS A FREE EVENT.  The barbeque will be held in the courtyard at MVHS on June 5th.

THE CLASS OF 2025 TIMELINE

May 1st: All graduation announcements, caps & gowns and other ordered materials through Royal T/Herff Jones arrive and are available at the senior class meeting (5th period, Main Gym).

May 31st: Textbooks and library books due

June 3rd: Senior finals need to be completed by June 3rd

June 3rd: CWI/AP Gov/Econ Teachers will share Line Up order and seat assignments

June 4th:  Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal, 12:00pm, (McKenzie Stadium)

  • Royal T/Herff Jones will be at rehearsal for any last minute cap & gown orders and distribution of medallions

June 4th: Senior Awards Night, 6pm, MVHS Auditorium

June 5th: Baccalaureate, 6:00pm, MVHS Auditorium

June 4th and 5th: Clearance Forms Available via CWI, AP Gov/Econ and Registrar’s Office for Running Start students. Note: Clearance involves paying all fees and fines, turning in your Chromebook and charger, library books, text books, sports equipment, completing your High School and Beyond Plan, and documenting your clearance on the form.

  • Once cleared you may pick up graduation tickets from front of school by the Thor statue.  The window is across from the counseling office.  Each graduate will receive 6 tickets. If a student needs more than 6 tickets, they are encouraged to ask their fellow grads for any extras as not every student will need 6 tickets.  Extra students if available will be given out at 3:30pm on June 5th at the senior bbq.

June 5th:

  • Seniors last day!
  • Moving Up PM Assembly - Graduates please wear graduation caps
  • Senior BBQ - Senior Barbecue from 3:15pm-4:30pm.  This is for Mountain View’s Class of 2025 graduates only.  THIS IS A FREE EVENT.  The barbeque will be held in the courtyard at MVHS.
  • Last day to clear for graduation
  • Last day to request final transcript from Registrar

June 7th:

  • Graduation, 2:00pm, McKenzie Stadium, gates open at 12:30pm for parents and families
  • Class of 2025 Grad Party sponsored by the Senior Parent Association.

Diplomas & Transcripts:  Friday, June 20 and Monday, June 23 | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (including lunch hour)
