CJRL is a public non-partisan institution. While the library system allows voting precincts in library branches and the main library, neither CJRL employees nor other people, including candidates, are allowed to solicit votes or support on CJRL property.

Employees are free to engage in whatever political activity they choose so long as their involvement does not infringe on library time and is not conducted on the library premises.

Employees shall not wear clothing, buttons, or other articles or items promoting a political position during working hours.

CJRL will neither seek, nor grant endorsements of elections issues. No advocacy is assumed by the library on any election issue other than its own.
